If You Have Recently Lost A Relationship It Is Easy To Build A Wall That Ruins Any Proceeding
November 11, 2011The Fear of Being Alone
December 11, 2011Doing something new, something completely out of the ordinary, is a scary endeavor no matter what it is. When you take a look at your life, are you completely satisfied with where you are at, the decisions that you have made and the impending results?
If you look around and you are in a place in your life where the things you have, the position that you are in, are not your dream conditions, then you have probably lived a life making decisions that were guided by fear.
For many of us, it is much easier to stay the course than to shake things up. Many of us don’t strive for a new position at work, move from our homes, stay in relationships that may not bring us the true happiness that we desire purely out of fear of action.
Life is about change and chances and if you find that you are not making those changes specifically to avoid the inevitable change that accompanies it, then you may never feel fully happy. If you are stuck in a position, location, or relationship which is not one that you would chose if you could have any that you want, then you may want to look at the actions, or inactions, that got you to that point.
Making any action is risky and scary. The end result must always seem more beneficial than the risk to get there. Unfortunately, most of us don’t take the time to think about why we don’t act, we just remain stuck. If, however, you are able to rationalize the situation.
If you are able to make a true mental calculation of the worst case scenario versus the best case scenario, you may find that to not act on a wish is much worse than any outcome that can come from acting. In most cases, our worst fears are not really that bad, and will probably never come to fruition.
You can’t possibly take the time to analyze all the decisions in your life. You would stay stuck and paralyzed in inaction. The important decisions, however, the ones that shape and guide your life, should be carefully thought out. They should be made by examining the difference between fears felt and the ones that can actually be realized.
There is almost always a huge discrepancy between the two. Don’t be stuck doing something that you don’t want to do out of fear of action, life can’t be guided by fear or you just stay stuck.
